  • A person with wrist size between 5.5 inches to 6.5 inches has a smaller frame.
  • A person with medium frame will have wrist size between 6.5 inches to 7.5 inches.
  • Wrist size more than 7.5 inches means the person has large frame.
However, there are two drawbacks of this method. For one it does not give the frame size for men whose height is less than 5'5". The other drawback is that some people may have larger or smaller wrist size and therefore may not have accurately the said frame size.

Due to the drawbacks of the previous method came up another method for calculating frame size. In this method elbow breadth is taken into consideration. To calculate the frame size keep your arm extended in front of the body. Bend the elbow to make a ninety degree angle, such that the arm and body are parallel to one another. Do not clench your fingers into a fist and keep the palm open. Turn the inner part of the wrist towards the body. Measure the distance between the two bones located on either side of the elbow. Compare the measurements with list given below. The measurements given below are for medium frame person. If the elbow measurements are lesser than the ones given in the chart for your height, then you have a small frame and if the measurements are more, then your body frame size is large.
