As the name suggests, sublingual hCG is taken orally by placing it under the tongue and holding it for a few minutes. This method is more convenient than an injection. Here’s more…
The hCG diet protocol needs no introduction for people who have been following dieting schemes already. Indeed, it has gained huge popularity as the most effective, yet easy weight loss method with no major side effects. Also available as hCG diet pills and drops, sublingual hCG is considered as the most convenient form of delivering this hormone to the body.
Sublingual hCG
Its simple definition is taking hCG diet drops under the tongue. Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), is a hormone produced by the placenta in the initial phases of pregnancy. This hormone is found to play a direct role in fat metabolism. As a woman conceives a baby, it transmits a signal to the brain (hypothalamus) for metabolizing fat. The energy yielded in this process is used to feed the developing fetus via the placenta.
While using sublingual hCG drops or any other hCG diet products, this pregnancy hormone performs the same function as it does in pregnant woman, thereby helping in quick weight loss. According to supporters of the hCG-based diet, it is effective for losing weight up to 1 – 3 pounds on a daily basis. As expected, various dangers are also reported, and the effectiveness of this dieting program is debatable. While many dieters have received positive weight loss effects, others oppose the claimed results.
Does it Work?
No doubt, sublingual hCG or oral hCG brings about weight loss. Nevertheless, as with any type of hCG diet protocol, this hormone-based weight loss program requires a dieter to cut down calories during the dieting period, and preferably after the dieting period is over too. The prescribed calorie intake per day is as low as 500. Now, if an adult consumed just 500 calories per day, weight loss is obvious.
Taking hCG drops is also claimed to be beneficial in other ways, such as reducing hunger pangs (unlike other calorie restriction diet plan) and proportional distribution of fats. Though, the FDA has not approved the use of hCG products (pill, drops, sprays, injection, etc.) for obesity treatment. Other than weight loss brought about by restricting daily calorie intake, there is no scientific proof that supports the effectiveness of hCG hormone in shedding pounds.
How to Take it?
hCG injection and drops are claimed to be equally effective. But, given a choice, most dieters opt for the drops for easy usage and safety concerns. Sublingual hCG kits are available online and also in several clinics. The instructions for mixing sublingual hCG and diet plan to be followed come along with the product kit.
For taking it sublingually, the white hCG powder from the ampule is first mixed with sublingual serum. In the morning, a correct dose of 0.5 cc is placed under the tongue. The dieter is expected to hold it for 5 – 10 minutes for effective absorption, or as mentioned on the label. From this, it gets absorbed directly in the blood vessels that are located at the base of the tongue. Another dose of oral hCG is delivered in the same way after 12 hours. It is believed that drops delivered orally have an absorption rate of approximately 95%.
Truly speaking, nothing is better than a weight loss approach that encompasses exercise coupled with correct eating habits.
