For instance, if the persons toes are in a curled position, then it may cause tingling and numbness. It is most likely that factors such as wearing ill-fitting shoes may hinder the blood supply to the foot thus, resulting in tingling, numbness and probably pain.

So their absence in the diet, is most likely to cause not only tingling, but shooting pain, weakness and numbness in toes and fingers, as well.
Multiple sclerosis is also one possible offender. It is associated with the nerves of the body getting deteriorated with time, because of malfunction in the communication between them and the brain. This occurs because the immune system of the body destroys the layer that protects the nerves. That is why, it is known as an autoimmune disorder of the body. So when nerves start deteriorating, tingling, numbness and pain in various parts of the body are the most probable symptoms, besides others.
Tingling in any part of the body may also indicate an impending stroke. Factors such as blood clot may cause a blockage in the artery that feeds part of the brain. So a lack of oxygen and nutrition causes the brain cells to die thus, causing severe brain damage. So if one experiences tingling, or numbness on one side of the body, then it may be suspected that he/she is having a stroke.
