According to researches, if aerobic dancing is carried on for half an hour at a stretch, it burns anywhere between 300 to 400 calories! You can do aerobic dancing at home, all by yourself, by playing some good music and learning the popular moves from a video on the Internet. Or, you can even take up a class for the same. Initially, it is advised that you join a class. Once you are well versed with all the moves and exercises, you can perform the same at home itself.

For carrying on this activity, you need to be dressed appropriately, in light weight, airy clothes, like a t-shirt and track pants as well as comfortable shoes, that are especially designed for this purpose. Start with jogging at one place for five minutes and performing some flexibility exercises, as a warm-up, so that you do not suffer from any kind of injury. After this, play the videos and copy the steps side by side. Exercise as long as you can comfortably, after that, slowly and slowly, as your stamina increases, stretch your exercise activity to half an hour. Some of the popular aerobic dance moves that you can include in your workout are - mambo, V step, step touch, heel back, step out, kicks, grapevine and knee up. You can learn how to do these, at home itself, by watching videos on the Internet. If you have learned some forms of dancing, such as belly dancing, salsa, mambo or Jazz, you can make up your own moves and incorporate them in your workout routine too! At the end of your aerobic dancing session, do not forget to perform some cool-down exercises for about ten minutes.
